By T. Mercy Annapoorni | Director

Blossom  has now continue to providing Nutrients such as Eggs, Milk ,Greens to the TB  Infected children in our Dayspring home. It raised  our children’s  immunity power because of the nutritious food supplied to them at our Dayspring Home and in the villages.

Maintaining at least the recommended daily allowance for all of the essential vitamins and minerals is another important goal for young patients with TB. The specific levels of nutrients needed depend on the age and sex of the child, so we consulted  a doctor and a dietitian about the appropriate foods and amounts to feed the child. Nutrients of particular concern include zinc, selenium, iron, copper and vitamins A, C, D and E, because these may impact immune system functioning and help fight off the invading bacteria. Getting enough omega-3 fatty acids, found in fish, seafood and flaxseeds, and sufficient cholesterol,  also improved the outcome for young TB patients. Children with low levels of any of these nutrients were need to take supplements to boost their levels during treatment for TB. Hence we are taking strenuous effort to maintain the same.

Diet tips followed by TB Children in our area:-

Apple :  Apples was beneficial for TB children of' T.B. It was  useful for intestines, liver and brain.

Grapes : All ate grapes for food for the cure of T.B.

Coconut : Eating 25 gms. of fresh or ground coconut kills the germs of T.B. and provided strength to the lungs.

Cloves : Cloves were an effective cure for T.B.

Carrots : Taking carrot juice is helpful in T.B. It contains nutrients in a balanced form.

Maize : At early stages of T.B. our TB children ate maize flour rotis.

.

So we need to give our children Nutrition food , hence those who are helping  our TB affected children, please continue to help and save our children from TB.
