Your thoughtfulness of being involved as Dayspring Home sponsor is truly humble and caring. Thank you for your kindness of giving the Children at our home a future.
August Little by Little
First of all, our attention goes to the new GlobalGiving campaign August Little by Little. This campaign will be held from August 12-16. It matches funds up to $50 dollar with 60%. Your donation, no matter how small, will have an increased value, so don’t miss it!
Update: Fire disaster at Dayspring home
In our previous update, we had a catastrophic fire which destroyed one of our buildings and injured some of our staff members. This time we can share some brighter news. We raised $632 dollars from our microproject to rebuilt our building that was lost in the fire! A more detailed report will soon be sent out to our readers and sponsors, but as we are immensely proud of the progress we have made, we could not retain you some before and after pictures.
High school graduation
We are very proud to announce that 3 of our 16 year old girls at Dayspring Home have successfully completed highschool. Next week, they will start college at the Industrial Training Institute in the nearby town of Virudhunagar, where they will be attending a 2 year schooling program in the electrical department. With this degree, they will be able to pursue government jobs and get a stable income. It is thanks to your sponsorship for Dayspring home that we are able to let these girls enjoy further education and invest in their future.
Visit of famous actor Rajini fans’ club
Actor Rajini’s fan club held a gathering this Sunday at Dayspring home. Their visit was very special as all of our kids know him and have seen him play in movies. During their stopover, they brought food for lunch and notebooks for the children.
Activities at Dayspring Home
At weekend days, our kids enjoy some free time. This is used for Prayer, playing card games with our office intern, or Tamil spelling classes. On Sunday, we make an extra effort to provide a non-vegetarian meal such as fish curry or chicken masala with rice, an egg and a mango for dessert.
Dayspring Farm
Also from our farm we have some news to share! Currently we are breeding some chicks. It was a lot of fun to see our eggs hatch. After the small chicks came out of their egg shells, we put them under a heating lamp so they are in a good environment to grow strong. The ones that are bigger, are put outside. Soon they will be big enough to provide us with nutritious eggs for the children's daily use.
Greetings from Dayspring Home!
Thank you for your generosity, time and energy. The impact you have on these children goes beyond words. Through this report, we hope to engage you in the stories of them. Please contact us if you have any questions about the children’s home, funding or our organization. We will continue to keep you informed on how your money is being put to action, and send updates about the ongoings of Dayspring Home.
With best wishes and our sincere gratitude,
Mercy Annapoorani, the Blossom Trust Team & the children of Dayspring Home
