By Phil L Nippert | Project Leader
So far, five donors have given $220 to this project, with a total of $201.60 being disbursed to us from GlobalGiving.
Two DOHS representatives remain in El Geneina, West Darfur, Sudan, ready to get supplies purchased by this project's funds to the people there who remain displaced by the massive fighting that occured in that area late last year. Another DOHS representative is now in Khartoum.
The Board has reached out to parts of the Darfuri community in the US, and is also considering applying for grant money. In the short term, the Board members will consider making donations of their own to obtain help for twenty families, possibly more. These donations will purchase the supply item the displaced tell us they need most from those listed in the original project plan (sleeping mats, shoes, blankets).
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
