The Raining Season - Floods us with Memories
It is the rainy season yet again, and with it, our Foundation is flooded with memories of many instances where floodwaters has caused many people grieve and loss, but at the same time it has made many more Thai people rise up to become volunteers who has impacted the lives of many others.
As we remember the Great Flood of 2011,where the whole country was underwater for months, in various provinces, we realised that our Foundations work for flood victims was greatest during this time and we had great love and help pouring in from around the world because of GlobalGiving's support.
As we continued this outreach in the years that followed, together with distributing warm clothings to those affected by the cold (which normally follow the flooded regions), we have seen many local Thais also having the volunteer spirit, making sacrifices so that others who are in worse conditions may be helped.
While the foundation is now on high alert for any help that we may give, we also want to remember and follow the example of our volunteer, Wanee Techrachawong, who being a kidney patient for 10 years, on dialysis 3 times weekly, suffering weakness and pain, many times in low spirit because of her ill health, yet how many more times she has pulled herself up, and travelled across distances to give encouragement and to gather and distribute sponsored items for the victims and sufferers.
Therefore we would like also to honor her work in this newletter, in her memory, as she has passed away suddenly, right after she said to us that she had finished the last project that she had taken on, a few weeks before. (Kindly see the VDO in her memory attached below)
Our Foundation would will continue to serve those in need, from the floods and the cold, as long as you, our supporters continue to believe in our work,and are ever thankful for all your help, financially, in kind and in advice. THANK YOU AGAIN!
