Never Resting on Our Laurels
Just when we thought that we have successfully tackled a problem in our circle of contacts, we also realise that we can never just rest on our laurels and applaud our percieved successes, because in the area of social outreach, events and situations are always evolving and needing response.
After the situation as reported in the previous report has been tackled and that our beneficiaries had been helped, we now have to ready ourselves for the coming rainy season as monsoons and typhoons make their way to this region of south-east asia.
The challenges in Thailand is that it is vulnerable to weather and climate extremes (eg very hot weather to heavy rains and flooding, to unsual cold weather espcially in mountainous regions, etc..). On top of that, differences in economic levels, population densities, technological capacities and urbanisation, add on to the challenges that the government and non-profit organisations have to face in easing the sufferings of the victims.
As the rainy season approaches from now till October, we in the Foundation have to again to ready ourselves in preparation for our contacts when the need arises.
We are thankful for donations of dried foods that have started to come in for our preparations, and look forward to receive from generous donors like yourselves.
Saeng, our contact volunteer from Phisanuloke, comment, "On behalf of the victims in my area, we are thankful for the help rendered to us, as we face the floodings yearly. Your donations encourage and help us go through these hard times and we are always grateful."
The Foundation for Life also want to thank all donors who have generously given for our projects and we look forward to our continued partnership. We also want ot thank you for your trust in us, to accomplish what needs to be done for suffering and needy victims.
Sincerely yours
Project Leader
