The cold season came in early and strong in the past winter in Thailand, especially in the mountainous regions of the country, just as predicted by the Thai Meteorological Department. This usually happens after extensive flooding experienced by the country.
The Foundation gathered a team of volunteers from the Girls' Brigade and the Young Men's Brigade Thailand to travel to the northern part of Thailand, in Chiangdao and Chiangmai to help distribute some of the blankets that were previously packed and sent to these destinations.
The journey to the Lahu Hilltribe in the Baan On village was filled with excitement as the pick-up truck with volunteers in it, had to manouever a stream with muddy banks, where the tires were nearly stuck. It was quite an experience for all to visit and distribute the blankets and warm clothings to the villagers there. Here they lived without access to electricity as well.
By the end of the night, the volunteers where tired, but fulfilled, having helped bring love and smiles to the people, especially the elderly and the children there.
The Foundation wishes to thank all donors and the Global Giving for your partnership in making this winter a warmer one for many here. Any suggestions and feedbacks are most welcomed
