The Weather May Be Cold, But Hearts Are Warmed
It is the usual practice of the Foundation for Life, that throughout the year, efforts were made to send out requests and collect warm items in preparation for the coming cold weather around Christmas and the New Year seasons.
This year was no different, and before the wintry months descended on the highlands and in the north and north-eastern parts of Thailand, the Foundation was busy with the final collection, sorting, packing, labelling and sending boxes of warm items, especially for the children and the elderly who live in these colder areas of the country.
One of the places that these items went to, was to the Hilltribe children who are studying in Chiangmai, Bawrirak School. The kids there were all excited as the teachers opened the cardboard boxes of winter beanies. Many received the colors that they liked and immediately tore off the packaging to try them on.
"Look at how handsome I am,"said a boy, while another looks on, saying that he looked better.
In a different part of Thailand in the province of Chiangrai, another group of exicted children waited eagerly as the winter beanines were distributed, again trying them out immediately and happy smiles were on their faces, as the weather was turning cold when distribution carried out.
Thanks to all volunteers and donors who helped to make this Christmas and New Year season a happy one for those who experienced the cold this year.
May you find joy knowing that many "heads" and especially hearts were warmed by your gesture of good will!
