First of all, I’d like to say “Thank You!” Thanks to you and GlobalGiving we are not only surviving this Covid Pandemic, but able to expand! With a new program focusing on building resiliency and addressing mental health concerns in our clients, we are addressing real-life needs in our community. The exciting role that equine assisted therapies and interventions has played in ameliorating the effects this pandemic has wrought on our community has brought new interest in BITS ETC as a force for good. I am proud to announce my acceptance of the position of Executive Director, and expect to lead us forward to the new reality that will be the world post Covid. I have worked these past seven months to learn the history, values, and mission of this great non-profit. I am inspired by the good work that has been accomplished these past seventeen years.
The mission remains the same: providing therapeutic riding and equine assisted activities to people ages two to ninety-two here in central New Hampshire. And now I am prepared to build on past success by bringing three new board members with expertise in finances, the law, and fundraising, to ensure continued success in furthering our mission. Now, more than ever, we are poised to support more clients with disabilities, but we need your continued support to do so. Our program for Veterans needs horses large enough to carry our heroes in their search for healing, and a draft sized horse is a significant investment in money and time. We hope to expand other offerings this spring but need to develop our equine herd to support all our riders. The chicken and the egg comes to mind: Which comes first, our expansion of services or our expansion of the herd to provide those services? Your donation now will help us invest in the horses who do the work, day to day.
