From clients with autism, to volunteers who struggle with ADHD, and board members who are themselves physically disabled, we "walk the walk" at BITS ETC, encouraging those who come here with what is called a disability, to pursue a quality of life that we all deserve. The pursuit of happiness for many, starts on the back of a horse. BITS ETC provides the well trained equine partners in the process. Your donation will support the care of our horses and the programs that serve our clients.
We are growing! Seventeen years of quality service to clients living with disabilities shows the benefits of pairing horses with humans....especially humans who may have trouble connecting with friends and family. To ensure continued provision of equine assisted therapies, and meet the growing demand for services, we must make improvements in infrastructure, administration, and facility design.
Replacing the roof of our indoor riding dome insures winter riding will continue in a safe and effective manner. Support for paid professionals in the Volunteer Manager and Executive Director role can bring BITS ETC to the next level of non-profit development, and allow for further growth.
We are now welcoming former clients back to campus as volunteers....children who remember their time on our horses, returning to help and give back so others may reap the benefits of BITS programs. "I don't think I would be able to drive a car today, if I hadn't ridden on my horse and learned the difference between right and left!" stated a former client on her return to volunteer. A safe place to grow and learn, a safe place to return.
