We are launching a second BIPOC Sci-Fi Lab cohort!

By Kimberly Bautista | Founder & Executive Director

Hello dear donors!

Thank you for your generous support of Justice for My Sister (JFMS)! We are very happy to announce the launch of the second cohort of our Black, Indigeous, People of Color Sci-Fi Screenwriting Lab on November 15, 2021. We are confident that we will continue to build a better future by supporting writers and filmmakers of color in creating stories of liberation. Your support throughout this campaign has made it possible for this program to return.

For this year’s cohort we will be welcoming 15 fellows into the JFMS community. We are also proud of the work our previous fellows invested in helping to recruit the new class. We invite you to watch two Instagram Live conversations we had with members of the previous cohort that demonstrate their transformative experiences in last year’s Lab: here and here. These conversations are so intimate and encouraging- -a reminder of the need for this work and an affirmation of the community we’ve been able to nurture.

It is with your support that we will be able to continue building a supportive community of writers and artists of color. We look forward to providing more updates to you as the second cohort of the Lab progresses.

To the future, marked by liberation, love, joy and justice.
