Happy New Year! We hope that this email finds you and yours having a wonderful 2014, and that your holiday season was merry and bright!
We have some exciting news to share with you: We have gotten official word from our partners in Namibia on the numbers and resupply route that our last shipment of bicycles took after reaching Namibia! Your efforts helped further sustain SEVEN Bicycling Empowerment Centers in northern Namibia! Woo! How amazing are you?!?
Here is the official breakdown:
Recipient: Total Number of Bicycles Received:
Nkurenkuru 74
Singalamwe 63
Katima 23
Ngoma 50
Bunya 40
Rundu 20
Shikenge 20
And, in addition to all of this bicycle goodness, and in large part thanks to our friends in Arkansas who donated their entire workshop of tools and parts, we sent boxes upon boxes of high quality tools and parts that projects will be able to use for years to come. Not only will this shipment, through your help, provide affordable and sustainable transportation for many in the region, but you have also directly helped empower folks to access employment, health care, and education. THANK YOU, from the deepest places in our hearts!
You will find a map of these lovely locations attached with this update. Even better, though, is that we will be conducting an evaluation/support trip to Namibia in April to be able to share with you some of the stories, faces, and places of the lives that you have helped to impact with your generosity. We cannot wait!! Because of time and budget constraints, and because you are so wonderful and we supported so many projects, we will not be able to visit every bicycle center, but we are hoping to visit as many as possible, so that we can send you a closer glimpse of all that you have accomplished. We are continuing to raise funds to cover the final evaluation costs, so please do not hesitate to share your good work with friends and family so that they can join our journey as well!
We are humbly and profusely thankful that you have chosen to partner with us in this effort to make an impact in the lives of others. You make it possible! If there are specific questions or pictures that you would like for us to capture during our April support and evaluation trip, please let us know! We would love to bring your thoughts along with us while we visit the bicycles that you helped repurpose across the world.
With warmth and gratitude,
Mary & the B4H GA family
