"beYoureyeS" as a team finished two Marathon on Oct.30 2016:
2016 Shanghai International Marathon
There are 10 Lanjingling teams, totally 40 visually impaired runners and their guiders stand on the race starting line of 2016 Shanghai International Marathon, and finish 5km, 10kms, half marathon and full marathon distance.
During long time preparation, all the team member running regular for their goals each weeks. Junmin Xiao, who is a shy boy and finish his first half marathon in 2hr16min, with his guider Jiahui Chen. Luocheng Wang, a young boy, finished his another 10km on Marathon race with his guider team. And Chenhui Lu, catch his PB on 4hr20min.
During 20 years history Shanghai Marathon, this is the first Guider sign, which is a mile-stone for Marathon history in Shanghai. For us, as a NGO who promote Sports Accessibility, is so proud that we are the one who can be important part and envitable step to make all this happen. From Janurary of 2015 to October of 2016, the sports accessibility race is also a marathon for us to run, and we have further way to go in the year 2017 and in the future.
Bird’s Nest Half Marathon
On the same day, Oct.30 2016, another Lanjingling team went to Beijing to participate Bird’s Nest Half Marathon race. "beYoureyeS" has three teams, all achieved great success!
Three visually impaired runner attend marathon race as their first time. And all of them receive good result. Liqun Wang, run 1hr45min with his guiders team, Taoyu and Xuehui Di also finish their first marathon with good temp and very enjoy their happen moment in race.
"beYoureyeS" harvested a lot of encouragement and concern, we appreciate every support and recognition of our teams.
Above is not only about the race, is about all the sweat and tears and hard practic for both visually impaired runners and guiders, and all the orginize team members who give huge support behind everythings, and all the supports who support us as a NGO. We appreciate all your great supports and wish you have a happy and meaningful 2017.
