On Nov.17, we share the topic <<Run with visually impaired runner in Shanghai Marathon>> in main stage of Shanghai Marathon Expo Center, After Chenhui's speech, we share the experience from visually impaired runner and guiders' side to all runners. Yier, a talent visually impaired girl, write a poetry in 7 seconds, and express her blessing to every runners.
We take a 2018 Shanghai Marathon Braille Map to Expo, which make all runners can “See” the path through finger and hand.
On Nov.18 6:00am, beYoureyeS team gathered at the start point of Shanghai Marathon. There is totally 18 group which include 4 group of Marathon, 11 groups of 10km, 3 groups of 5km, each group include 1 visually impaired runner and 3 guiders, plus supply support volunteers, more than 100 lanjinglings(Lanjingling is a word included all visually impaired runner and unimpaired guiders, and other volunteers) participated into this race.
Chenhui PB in 4 hours in his Marathon with his guider team, clean time is 3:57:57. His wife Xiaozhu, also is his guider in 2017 Shanghai Marathon, waiting for him in the finish line with the unborn baby. Btw, their baby will born soon Dec.18 or Jan.19. Let’s give our best wishes to them.
We also provide 3 supply support in 9km, 21km, 36km to provide perfect protection, and there is also a small volunteer group to take all 5km and 10km runners’ packages to the finish line.
Ah, by the way, though it’s rain cat and dog, we enrich lot of strength when have hot pot and birthday party together after race.
You see, Marathon is only on that day, it means whole year practice, it means time and sweat, both for runners and the organization Lanjingling.
