AIL has 4 fixed clinics, 2 at an orphanage and 1 at a street children facility. In addition, AIL conducts medical clinics at 4 of its Learning Centers and supports 14 Community Health Worker posts in the Herat area. Health education is as important as the health treatment provided by these clinics. We are proud to say that in 2018 AIL provided 246,152 patient treatments and 177,406 attended some form of health education.
I am a midwife in Jaghartan clinic AIL. I was in my room when I woman was referred to me and asked me about family planning. I asked about her history and found out that she has 8 children and she is tired of getting pregnant. Additionally, she had tried some methods of prevention but they failed. Then I prescribed her I.U.D method. Fortunately this methods was so successful for the woman. Recently she came along with her husband to the clinic to thank me."
