The generous support Alliance India received from donors all over the world like you has helped us make a huge impact in the lives of young people living with HIV in India.
In this update, we would like to share with you stories of two adolescents who have been supported in the last quarter.

Jyoti (Guntur, Andhra Pradesh)
Jyoti, a 14-year-old orphan, was born with HIV. She lives with her grandmother, and due to extreme poverty, she had poor access to proper nutrition and the opportunity of education. A church provided her and her grandmother with shelter and food when they had no place to live. With a small loan, her grandmother was able to start a small business, but she was still struggling to meet the needs of Jyoti.
With your support, Jyoti has been able to pursue her education and is currently studying in class 10. She has been able to get better access to nutrition as well. She is now taking her medicines as required and adhering to her antiretroviral treatment.
Amar (Guntur, Andhra Pradesh)
Born with HIV, Amar is a 16-year-old boy who lost his mother when he was three and his father when he was seven. He presently lives with his grandmother, and their financial condition was very poor.
Amar has been on antiretroviral treatment since 2008, however the nutritional support available to him has been lacking. With your generous support, he was able to get access to proper nutrition and education. Today, he is studying in class 11 and leads a healthy life.
