During the last quarter, we focused on building our Global Giving campaign as part of the Gateway Challenge. The Alliance India team was part of the series of webinars organised by Global Giving to train participants on creating a successful campaign and winning the challenge. Recognizing the significant vulnerability of adolescents living with HIV, our project is working in the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra to improve the quality of services for this highly vulnerable populations. These two states have the highest burden of adolescents living with HIV in India.
After the campaign was live on the website, the Alliance India team was involved in rigorous outreach through emails, newsletter and social media. We were able to raise £3,056 through 73 donations. We are now in the process of receiving the funds and utilising the same to implement the project at ground-level to support adolescents living with HIV with improved access to testing and treatment, comprehensive youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health services, improved linkages to other health services, and support for skill-building and income-generation activities.
