Can'd Aid continues to fundraise through the winter for a groundbreaking of the park in Spring 2024. In late November, Can'd Aid received a significant $25,000 donation from Pericle Communications Company. We were also selected (out of several hundred applications!) to be one of the twenty recipients to receive a $5,000 SCHEELS Giving Campaign grant. The SCHEELS crew requested that the $5,000 be used to purchase the fully accessible wheelchair swing that can be independently-operated by a wheelchair user like the one above! This grant will covers about 1/3 of the cost. The final park plans are moving through the approval process with the developer, landscape architect and the Town of Berthoud.
