The healing starts with a small steps, a glimmer of hope in the heart of a nation in distress.
And for the brave youth of Beirut, the hope and the healing all started because of you.

Thank you so very much for your donations to The Concern Organization Network in support Beirut Port Explosion Relief Assistant campaign.
As a result of the crowd-funding efforts over the past few months, we were able to collect $1660.

We reached out to the youth listed in our list last week to inform them that the funds are now available for them to and will be disbursed as programed 200 for each youth heading a family. This will help them purchasing winter food or clothes.
During our call with them last week, they insisted that they know the names of all the generous donors as they are so deeply touched by your support and wish to thank you all.

On their behalf - thank you so much once again. We will be in touch with you again soon to inform you with latest updates and activities upone receiving new funds for this project

With best wishes and our sincere gratitude,

Dear Friends,
It is our pleasure to share With the COVID-19 pandemic impacting everyday life, we thank you for your continued support and wish you and your community health and peace. Right now, Concern Organization for Women & Children faces new challenges. As we adapt to these unprecedented circumstances, we’ll continue to serve our communities as best we can. However, in order to ensure the safety of our community and ourselves, we’ve made necessary modifications to our programming that we’d like to share with you. For instance, we are working to spread knowledge , conducting the training and learning sessions through online platforms. We installed new technology and devices for beneficiaries’ benefits and for their easy access to technology Since our organization’s programming already aligns with COVID-19 relief/recovery efforts, we’re doubling down on this work. We’re doing this by supporting vulnerable communities who are the most likely to be subject to violence and are exposed to life risks. We’re grateful to be in a situation that allows us to continue serving our community during this crisis.

As you all know, Lebanon is going through the most severe economic crisis in its history, exacerbated by the outbreak of the Coronavirus, and most recently by the tragic explosion of Beirut, which killed more than 190 people, injured thousands, displaced 300,000, and destroyed thousands of homes. . Many of the few businesses still operating in the city have been destroyed resulting in high unemployment.

Concern, with your generous assistance, has assessed the situation and designed its project to support employment of young people in need.
With no income to pay rent, food or medicine, people are homelessness, depression and suicide are on the rise. In response to this situation, it intends to implement its program to support up to 100 unemployed and financially vulnerable youth by matching them with paid internships in Beirut, while learning basic employability and personal skills through training

The committed and registered youth will receive a monthly stipend for a period of three months, after which they will be linked to a number of local and remote job opportunities.
Young people committed to the program will get $ 200 a month for three months to support themselves, thus reducing their sense of hopelessness and increasing their sense of purpose and direction.
So far, we are in the data collection effort stage, which will enable us to respond quickly to the needs of those affected by the explosion.
Our goal is to enroll up to 100 unemployed young people into this program.
In the last period we've learned how important the Small Effort Alliance really is.
Your support brings our project closer to helping them get back on their feet to rebuild their lives, and it will give them hope in overcoming this difficult time.

Forever grateful,

Ahmed Anwar
