As you all know, Lebanon is going through the most severe economic crisis in its history, exacerbated by the outbreak of the Coronavirus, and most recently by the tragic explosion of Beirut, which killed more than 190 people, injured thousands, displaced 300,000, and destroyed thousands of homes. . Many of the few businesses still operating in the city have been destroyed resulting in high unemployment.
Concern, with your generous assistance, has assessed the situation and designed its project to support employment of young people in need.
With no income to pay rent, food or medicine, people are homelessness, depression and suicide are on the rise. In response to this situation, it intends to implement its program to support up to 100 unemployed and financially vulnerable youth by matching them with paid internships in Beirut, while learning basic employability and personal skills through training
The committed and registered youth will receive a monthly stipend for a period of three months, after which they will be linked to a number of local and remote job opportunities.
Young people committed to the program will get $ 200 a month for three months to support themselves, thus reducing their sense of hopelessness and increasing their sense of purpose and direction.
So far, we are in the data collection effort stage, which will enable us to respond quickly to the needs of those affected by the explosion.
Our goal is to enroll up to 100 unemployed young people into this program.
In the last period we've learned how important the Small Effort Alliance really is.
Your support brings our project closer to helping them get back on their feet to rebuild their lives, and it will give them hope in overcoming this difficult time.
Forever grateful,
Ahmed Anwar
