The Beirut Port Explosion Emergency Response Project will provide immediate survival support to people affected by the 04.08.2020 disastrous explosion in Beirut, Lebanon. INSAN will undertake the following actions: Provide food assistance by cooking and distributing cooked meal portions. Provide accommodative assistance by distributing items such as mattresses, bed sheets. Provide medicines. Provide hygienic assistance by distributing cleaning, antiseptic and baby supplies.
On August 4, 2020 Lebanon (Beirut Port) witnessed an unprecedented blast closely comparable to the 1944 Hiroshima bomb. The results were devestatous in terms of physical, mental and material damages. Expected number of casualties reached over 135 and injuries 5,000 to date. The negative impacts are huge. Vast geographical area has been affected. Hundreds of thousands of homeless people need food, accommodative, medical and hygiene support.
The Lebanon Explosion Emergency Response Project will address basic survival needs of the people affected by this catastrophic explosion by providing food, medicines, hygiene and accommodative materials.
The Lebanon Explosion Emergency Response Project's long-term impact is simple: Surviving individauls will be able to look forward to continue their lives by receiving day-to-day basic survival support.
