By Dr. Hayley R Adams | Director of Operations
Over the past few months we have been working with the local community of Amboseli to establish a community based organization known as 'Elong', or shield in the local Maa language.
We have secured their certification with the local government, and soon will begin assisting the community based on their own priorities for capacity building. By helping people at the interface with elephants we are working to secure their livelihoods, so they may in turn protect their rich cultural and diverse wildlife heritage.
Our elephant project continues with additional training for creating paper products from elephant dung. Stay tuned for more updates in this regard.
Thank you for your interest and support for our work in the Amboseli elephant corridor.
With Gratitude,
Silent Heroes Foundation
