The Native Beekeeping Activities Continue @IALA Amazônico
On 12th February, the second native beekeeping workshop took place at IALA Amazônico!
The meliponary (space where the meliponini bees are located) was already installed during the previous workshop, together with the first training on native beekeeping.
In between, the Amazonian winter was there to be found, the most difficult part of the year for the native bees. Regardless of the challenges, we could find healthy beehives and an engaged community!
We already plan the new workshop at IALA to reach even more people in the surrounding communities!
The next workshop is already scheduled for 14th and 15th May.
Meli supports Frei Henri Smallholder Community to further develops beekeeping and hold local event
On 12th March, the second native beekeeping workshop took place at Frei Henri Smallholder Community.
The event had very special guests: the kids!
With the support of the local school, the children and grandchildren of the communities joined the conversation and were super excited to see the native stingless bees. It's such a pleasure to see their eyes shining on happiness!
On April 13th, Meli supported the community's celebration and sharing of their stories.

The Community Journey Started!
In the start of the month (05.03.) the second community meeting of the year took place with a big update: we started Meli Community Journey!
This Community Journey is a new program at Meli, strengthening even more our relationship with the communities - and the relationship between the communities themselves.
It's great to see it all coming together with the participation and engagement of indigenous, smallholders and quilombolas since the very first meeting!
