Beyond Beds for Kids

The most important thing we do at Community Warehouse is provide essential furnishings for individuals and families. Our project name, ‘Beds for Kids,’ reflects our core mission.

However, a home is more than four walls and the essentials. When we can, we are happy to be able to have those ‘little extras’ for our clients.

For example, we have a corner of our Warehouse devoted to donated wall art, and encourage people to take home something to make their space beautiful.

Another special project is our ‘Children’s Chairs’. Once a year, we invite local artists to transform a small chair into something special for the children who visit the Warehouse with their families to select furniture. For a child coming out of homelessness, domestic violence, or other trauma, having something ‘just for them’ is very powerful.

The chairs are collected prior to Chair Affair, our annual spring fundraising event. The pieces are on display at the event - not to be sold, but to represent the Community Warehouse mission.

After the event, all of the chairs are returned to the Warehouse to be selected by children. It is pretty incredible for us to give kids the opportunity to choose their very own beautiful, handmade, fun, and functional piece of art.

We just had to share these adorable images with you...

Thank you for all you do to support children in need.
