As we reflect on our activities of this quarter, particularly Mother’s Day, we fondly remember the mothers and important mother figures in our lives.
Today, we want to share wonderful news about the mothers we serve in Egypt.
Over the past few years, the workshops typically available to mothers in our programs were paused for everyone’s safety due to COVID-19. Thank God, we are now able to resume our workshops, which provide emotional support and much more.
By holding workshops specifically targeting widowed mothers, we teach important topics that address healing from emotional wounds, self-care, health, and hygiene.
These workshops have become a safe place where mothers can freely share their emotions and begin to understand how valuable they are as members of theirfamilies and communities.
One mother told us, “Before attending the workshop, I felt I was alienated from myself, I had forgotten about myself, I did not know who I was. But through the workshop, I learned that I am important…I am like a precious diamond.”
I invite you to join us in celebrating the pure, unfiltered joy in the mothers’ faces during one of the engaging workshops in their village!
