This Project will provide new and clean beds and mattress for 87 orphans that lives in NPH Nicaragua Houses. Obtaining healthy sleep is important for both physical and mental health, mostly for boys and girls in development age; it can also improve productivity and overall quality of life. In this way, we provide an integral growth at any aspect of their life. The Project includes Mosquito nets, which helps to prevent diseases such as malaria, skin infections and viruses.
To NPH health is a priority, we provide specialized medical care to young people, both in physical and emotional health. The costs of specialized drugs covers the majority of our budget, leaving aside infrastructure issues and the renovation of new beds and mattress. The current mattresses expired in their lifetime, and after cleaning, they are no longer functional or hygienic for children.
Each child will receive a complete bedroom package, which will include the mattresses, new bed sheets, mosquito nets and a pijama improving their integral sanitation. The environment impact impel the self-esteem of the children by feeling caring and reinforces the sense of belonging by having their own bedroom supplies.
Will enhance the population environment and cleanliness. Besides the positive impact on hygiene, the bedroom package will contribute to the kids restful sleep influencing their mood, feelings and daily activities. According to research when kids well rested, they are able to process new information more efficiently. Benefits of a new mattress: it reduced back pain by 57%, shoulder pain by 60% and back stiffness by 59%. It also improved sleep quality by 60%.
