As the year comes to an end, people celebrate Christmas with joy, and schools across the region close their accounts and begin winter vacations. This year, the Society for Minors’ Protection and Development (SMPD) also aimed to celebrate this special season by organizing a small Christmas program for the children of St. Michael Primary School.
The responsibility for organizing the event was jointly given to the school administration and SMPD. The purpose was simple yet meaningful: to share the joy of Christmas, encourage the children, and motivate them despite the many challenges they face. The school staff and management demonstrated great commitment and responsibility by hosting the event and showcasing the talents of their students.
Although the arrangements were modest, the passion and confidence of the children were truly inspiring, especially during the Christmas drama performances. Their enthusiasm reflected the potential that exists within these young learners when they are given care, encouragement, and opportunity.
SMPD was also honored by the presence of its Board Chairperson, who witnessed firsthand the efforts being made to support urban slum children through St. Michael Primary School. The missionary priests of the local church joined the event as well, sharing valuable feedback and suggestions to improve the school’s overall situation. During the gathering, SMPD also presented its strategies and future plans aimed at strengthening the school and ensuring sustainability.
We would like to sincerely appreciate our supporters who showed interest in this project and contributed according to their capacity. We are pleased to share that the first installment of funds raised for this project was successfully handed over to the school administration. This marks an important step toward improving facilities and educational conditions for the children.
We encourage our supporters to continue showing their generosity so that St. Michael Primary School may grow stronger and continue providing education and hope to needy children and their families. Education remains a powerful tool to help these children explore new opportunities and build a better future.
With renewed hope and the joy of Christmas and the New Year, we gratefully acknowledge the support and facilitation of GlobalGiving and our partners.
