We rise together!

Last week in the midst of a lot of elections uncertainty in Kenya, this brave Mfariji team set out to go to Kitui to do one last swipe of encouragement, mentorship and empowerment to the sitting class 7 and 8 students of Kangondi Primary school. These are our real heroes who refuse to give up until change happens.

Irene, our first Scholarship recipient, joined in to encourage the students to do their best sighting that an opportunity to attend high school for her has completely changed her life, her family’s life and will forever impact her children’s generation. She believes so strongly in the vision of Mfariji Africa, that she has committed to be a peer mentor during school holidays and continue mentoring more girls to follow her path.

Studies have also shown that girls who are educated earn higher salaries, 10 to 20 percent more for each additional year of secondary school, and sending more girls to school and into the workforce can boost an entire country's GDP. Educated girls also marry later, have lower rates of infant and maternal mortality, and are more likely to immunize their children and less likely to contract malaria and HIV no matter where they are and what the circumstances. Through the Beauty & Brains scholarship Fund we hope to continue raising our voice for girls to get educated.

Last month, our founder Alice, was interviewed by Kenyan local media station, NTV. She explains candidly, why Sanitary pads ,Mentorship and high school scholarships are key to equalizing girls opportunities in school.

Mfariji Africa is making sure that marginalized girls in Kenya receive all the opportunities they deserve, leading with education..

Because every girl deserves a bright future are you ready to empower girls by making a donation?
