Once upon a time, in the heart of Mexico, a group of passionate educators came together to create something special. They shared a vision of a world where women and youth had access to education, life skills, and empowerment to achieve their dreams. They called themselves HHWT – Have Hammer Will Travel A.C (Escuela de Artes Industriales).
The concept of light-truth was at the core of their mission. It was the belief that education and knowledge could shine a light on the truth, empowering individuals to lead a better life. The HHWT team knew that education teaching life skills through woodworking and design was the key to creating a brighter future for their community, and they were determined to make a difference.
For 14 years, HHWT had been providing classes and education to women and youth in Mexico. Their efforts were changing lives, but they knew that they could do more. To accomplish their goal of creating a learning environment that prepared their students to lead, they set out to improve their campus.
With a renewed strategic plan, HHWT was ready to enhance the student experience. They introduced new life skills classes and innovative teaching methods, creating a learning environment that fostered creativity and critical thinking. They encouraged their students to learn by doing, giving them the tools to create change in their own communities.
As HHWT continued to grow, they realized that they couldn't do it alone. They needed partners who shared their vision of empowerment, engagement, and bridging the gap. They needed people who cared about achieving dreams, feeding a brain, and empowering women, girls, and boys. So, they reached out to the world, inviting people to join them in their mission.
Thanks to the generosity of people all over the world, HHWT was able to continue their work. Their students were empowered, their communities were changing, and their vision of a brighter future was becoming a reality. The concept of light-truth had never been stronger, shining a light on the power of education and the potential of every individual.
And so, HHWT continued to be the light, guiding their students towards a better future. They knew that their work was never done, but they were determined to keep going. With the help of their partners and supporters, they would continue to make a difference in the lives of women and youth in Mexico. It’s our five-year plan to improve the HHWT campus. Thank you for becoming part of our legacy group and placing HHWT in your will, thank you partnering with us your donations have made a difference.
