Jake's Diapers serves babies in Guatemala living in devastatingly difficult situations, where sometimes a choice has to be made between food and diapers. Jake's donates cloth diapers at no cost to orphanages, ministry partners, and missionaries so these organizations can afford basic living expenses and focus on a solution for problems such as malnutrition and starvation. Cloth diapers provide a long-term solution from birth through potty-training, truly changing the lives of these children.
Babies living in extreme poverty around the world have to choose between food & diapers. Though rescue centers, orphanages and missionaries exist to assist some of these populations, those organizations still struggle to find enough funding and supplies to help these babies. Imagine re-using a disposable diaper simply because you can't afford for your baby otherwise - that's a decision many of these organizations have made.
Just 12 cloth diapers can diaper a baby from infancy through potty-training, eliminating the need to pay for disposable diapers to care for this child. Through our Diaper Drops across the world, we are helping local organizations leverage the funds they have available to better care for their babies in other ways. In many places, organizations see decreased infant mortality rates and increased quality of life through cleaner environments and more availability of basic living needs.
As our partner organizations continue to have their diaper needs solved, they are able to save funds and plan for future improvements in their care. This can mean adding educational programs, offering better healthcare, improved quality of food (more protein!) - all steps that set these babies up for long term survival and productive members of society. But that's not all. With our Maternal/Infant Outreach, both infant and maternal mortality decrease, thus helping to reduce the orphan crisis.
