Dear Friend,
Thank you very much for your support to our project providing help to women who are in dire situation. Violence against women is often under reported or not reported at all. The prevalence of family shame is ever present as the culprit is sometimes a member of the family. This reporting period we continue to provide referrals to concerned government agencies for battered women. We also created a support group so that situation of violence is reported to proper authorities in time and not with due delay. We are also providing livelihood support for women and their families focusing on small-scale livelihoods that they can do themselves in a simple and easy manner and not too technical. This consist of gardening, raising of small animals like chicken, food vending and handicrafts. We were able to support 20 women in this manner during this time. Again, thank you for your support.
Very sincerely yours,
Michelle Frances Uy
Dear Friend,
Thank you very much for your support to our project providing help to battered women. We always include in our support service the families of the women because there is a direct correlation between poverty to violence in the home. In previous reports we focus our attention to the provision of livelihood support especially in the implementation of small-scale livelihoods on an easy socialized repayment scheme. This reporting period we are providing much needed water and sanitation assistance to families lacking the facilities. We realize that it is not only a family which is affected by poor sanitation but the whole community as well because flies go from place to place and they usually alight in open defecation places. We were able to construct a total of 5 latrines during this period, thanks a lot for your support. We target more latrines to be constructed in the coming months. Again, thank you very much.
Very sincerely yours,
Michelle Frances Uy
Dear Friend,
Thank you very much for your generous support to our initiative helping women who are battered mostly by their husbands and partners. This problem is prevalent especially with poverty very apparent in the villages and they are mostly unreported. The victim themselves do not go out in the open for the social stigma related to this as well as the lack of support they usually get. Local agencies tasked with helping resolve this kind of problems is often incapacitated to do so and the situation is indeed difficult. Our approach this reporting period is to provide small livelihoods to poor women so that they become self-sufficient and independent. We were able to support 12 women in this manner and we hope to continue providing help in the next reporting period. Thank you so much for your kindness.
Very sincerely yours,
Michelle Frances Uy
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our initiative providing support to women who are abused either physically and emotionally. The restrictions and lack of physical movement caused by the coronavirus pandemic and the grinding poverty among the poor because of severe climate changes resulting to agriculture losses has exacerbated violence and abuse among women. Our initiative during this reporting period is to provide for the employment of women who are abused in a farm run as social enterprise and as source of income and employment opportunities. We do production, processing of products and marketing at the local and provincial level. Thanks too to the help of local supporters we are able to expand this pilot initiative. During this reporting period we are able to help 12 women in this manner. Hoping for your continuing support. Thank you very much.
Very sincerely yours,
Michelle Frances Uy
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our initiative supporting battered women so that they are able to become independent and stand on their own without so much support from the community. One of the biggest hurdle we are facing with this initiative is that the violence against women is repeated several times and not only once with the victim silent and unable to speak or report the violence. Aside from providing much-needed legal help, we also provide small-scale livelihood support to victims with the livelihood that they love and that they have already some practical knowledge. We were able to do this important support to 12 battered women and hoping that we are able to expand to more in the coming months. Again thank you very much for your kindness.
Very sincerely yours,
Michelle Frances
