Can you imagine living without a bathroom? It is estimated that in Colombia there are two million people without a bathroom. We are TECHO an NGO that works to help families in poverty. With your support, we want to reduce the number of people who do not have a bathroom in Colombia, providing 55 bathrooms to these families who do not have the resources. Thus impacting approximately 200 people. A bathroom saves lives, protects dignity and creates opportunities. Sanitation is a human right.
Like having telephone, aqueduct and electricity service, having a toilet is also a quality of life. And it is almost unthinkable that in the middle of 2021 there are still homes that do not have a sanitary service. In Colombia 520,000 households do not have access to appropriate sanitation services including toilets or latrines, which has serious consequences on human health, the environment, and social and economic development.
We will provide decent and complete bathrooms to families currently living in poverty in Colombia. This project seeks to install in the homes of these families 55 complete bathrooms with all the external and internal structure, toilet, sink, shower, among others. Changing the quality of life of these people!
We expect to build approximately 50 bathrooms per year, exponentially reducing the number of people affected by not having a bathroom. In this way we will increase the quality of life of thousands of Colombians.
