Overview & Progress

The Basketball and Talent Scholarship Program was established to identify, support, and nurture students with exceptional athletic ability and academic promise—regardless of financial background. Its mission is to break down socioeconomic barriers, promote inclusion in sports, and create clear pathways for both academic success and athletic excellence from primary through high school.

Following the success of the second Tooro Kids Basketball League held in September 2025, the program expanded its reach to include primary school students who have been part of the academy’s basketball development program. This strategic addition ensures that promising young athletes receive support and mentorship early, laying the groundwork for long-term growth and opportunity.

As of October 2025, the Basketball and Talent Scholarship Program proudly supports 10 student-athletes across both primary and high school levels. This includes 6 high school students—four boys and two girls—and 4 primary school students in Year 6—two boys and two girls.

The inclusion of these younger scholars marks a major milestone in the program’s evolution, creating a clear development pipeline that nurtures talent from the grassroots level to advanced competitive play. Each scholarship provides financial relief, academic encouragement, and structured athletic development—ensuring every student can pursue both education and sport with dignity and confidence.
