At Balsam, we believe that no one should face illness alone or suffer because they can't afford care. Our mission is to relieve suffering and improve the quality of life of patients living with life-threatening illnesses. Through this project, we aim to raise $20,000 to provide comprehensive palliative care services to 20 patients who can't afford them before the end of 2026. Your contribution can help us reach patients who would otherwise be left without the care and support they need.
Many patients with life-threatening illnesses cannot afford the specialized palliative care they need. This leaves them vulnerable to pain, distress, and unnecessary suffering, while families struggle with the emotional and financial burden of care. Without proper support, caregivers may feel overwhelmed managing pain, medications, and symptoms at home, often resulting in avoidable hospital visits and added costs. Financial hardship should never determine who receives comfort and and dignity.
Through this project, Balsam will provide free, comprehensive palliative care to 20 patients who cannot afford it. Our multidisciplinary team will provide personalized support to manage pain, symptoms, and the emotional challenges of serious illness. Whenever possible, care will be provided at home, helping patients remain comfortable and surrounded by their families while caregivers receive the guidance they need.
The project will improve the quality of life of 20 patients while providing their families with essential guidance and support. By enabling care at home, Balsam can reduce suffering and help families navigate serious illness with greater comfort and dignity. The project will also raise awareness of palliative care in Lebanon and demonstrate its importance as an essential part of healthcare. In the longer term, it will help Balsam reach more vulnerable patients and sustain free palliative care.
