“I want to work at a ranch with animals and put what I’ve learned into practice.” This has always been Xiao-Jie’s (pseudonym) dream.
Even though opportunities to work at a ranch were rare, he never gave up. Through the support of a #job_coach, Xiao-Jie was matched with a trial position at a horse ranch.
At first, due to limited physical strength, he could only work four hours a day, often returning home with sore muscles. Determined to improve, Xiao-Jie used his days off to exercise and strengthen his body.
Initially, working with large horses made him nervous and anxious. With guidance from his job coach, he gradually learned about horse behavior, mastered each task step by step, and built solid skills. Today, Xiao-Jie has become an indispensable member of the ranch, assisting in equine therapy sessions and leading participants to learn about horses and ranch work .
Along his employment journey, we’ve accompanied him every step of the way. Seeing his dedication to pursuing his dream reminds us deeply—if you have a dream, chase it; as long as you don’t give up, anything is possible .
