Dear Friends,
Happy New Year! We hope you've enjoyed spending the holidays with friends and family and are excited about the possibilities 2017 brings.
Our funding isn't complete yet, but with your support 35 boys and girls were able to go to school this year. This means that not only did they receive the classroom instruction, uniforms and school supplies that you're helping to provide, but also lunch each school day, rice for their families when they showed good attendance, medical attention when they needed it, and an environment in which they can succeed. In October, a fellow supporter provided funding to help finish the second school PIO has built in Stung Mean Chey and installed a solar panel system to reduce costs. These students benefit from having more room to learn (the school was over capacity and there is a waiting list to get in) in addition to the opportunity to study at PIO for high school classes once they finish elementary and middle school. Your gift to these special Kindergarden students provides the first step- it is the beginning of their educational careers and their futures. They may not know it yet, but with your support they will do great things.
We wish you all the best for this new year and hope you continue to join us on this journey. It means so much to us and all of the children we support.
Yours truly,
Amber Warren
Thank you from the children at PIO!
