Challenge

Orphans are belonging to Muslim and socially deprived communities. Children get separated from their families are kept in various institutions, with relatives/friends,living on streets. Child uses drugs, get neglected from society, getting abused, exploited physically/mentally/sexually and does not get a proper direction towards building their future. All these affect their psycho-social well being. Institutional arrangement and the streets cannot provide an environment for growth.

Solution

Our program will identify 50 Orphan needs and support will be provided based on their care plan. Each orphan will be linked with kinship/foster/individual/group family care support to have education, health, proper nutrition and freedom to fun & leisure for their proper growth and development.Community level stakeholders, Govt. Care and Protection Mechanisms participation will be increased to take proper care, protection and monitoring of orphans.

Long-Term Impact

To build a relationship between child and family to develop a sense of mutual acceptance, belongingness and love among each other, which would ensure family continues to take care of the child. Economically weaker care livelihood (linkage with government schemes) enhancement will provide support system in sustaining the care giver family. The community level stakeholders and activation of government mechanism will ensure safety of child by adopting various measures.
