Project Report | Oct 7, 2022
October 2022

By Scott Lange | Executive Director

I'm pleased to share that we are in the process of adding two new ambassadors to our roster - a non-releasable groundhog and a non-releasable vulture. We are still selecting a name for the groundhog, while the vulture has received the name "Carrie" as in carrion. Carrie came to us after becoming entangled in carpet fibers in the warehouse where his nest was when he was born. He lost a toe but otherwise recovered. Without that toe he can't make it on his own so he stays with us permanently. The groundhog suffered from balance issues before treatement; they improved some but not enough to allow release. Your support makes caring for these animals possible - thank you!
