March 2026: The Dawn of Change: Our First Steps in Awakening Aragua

By Eva Martorano – Project Leader, International Outreach Alive to the World

Dear Donors,

I want to start with a big THANK YOU!  Thanks to your generosity our main objective of empowering teachers to nurture hope and resilience to the children of the state of Aragua, Venezuela, has started and is making progress!

What makes this project so special?

This project is at the heart of our 2025–2026 Aragua Expansion. Our primary goal is to bring the Alive to the World (Aprendiendo a Querer) program to 10 vulnerable educational institutions in Aragua State, directly benefiting over 4,000 children and 150 teachers.

Through our PIPH Pedagogy (Integrative Personality and Human Flourishing), we do more than deliver materials; we revitalize the teaching vocation and provide critical tools for life-skills development and values-based education in complex social contexts.

Key Milestones and Achievements (First Academic Period)

1. Strategic Alliances and Institutional Reach

  • Official Authorization: On September 10, 2025, we received official government approval to implement the program across 181 institutions in Aragua State.
  • Diagnostics and Site Visits: We have completed technical visits to 147 schools across the municipalities of Girardot, Zamora, José Rafael Revenga, and José Félix Ribas. During these visits, we gathered institutional data, performed book inventories, and established success indicators.
  • Projection: We are currently on track to reach the total goal of 181 schools by the second period of the school year.

2. Teacher Training and Curricular Adaptation

  • Specialized Training: We launched training sessions in the Santos Michelena Municipality, covering all levels: Early Childhood, Primary, and Secondary Education.
  • Operational Agility: In response to new Ministry of Education labor regulations regarding school hours, we successfully adapted our training workshop from 16 hours to a 12-hour intensive format. This allowed us to train 50 teachers while remaining fully compliant with the new schedules.

3. Direct Impact in Santos Michelena Municipality

  • Active Implementation: The program is already live in 6 schools within the municipality.
  • Beneficiaries: We have reached 815 students, delivering 815 student textbooks and 38 teacher guides.
  • Mentorship: The first 30 hours of Pedagogical Accompaniment (in-classroom support) have been completed, ensuring the methodology is being applied effectively.

We still have a long way to go, but thanks to your donations we will get there!

Next Steps and Expansion

  • Ocumare de la Costa: We have finalized preliminary visits to 4 schools. Teacher training and material delivery are scheduled for the coming weeks.
  • Continued Support: We will intensify our follow-up visits to ensure teachers feel supported and motivated as they implement the PIPH Pedagogy in their daily lessons.

Beyond the statistics, the start of this school year has demonstrated the resilience of our educational community. By offering professional development, we are helping Aragua’s teachers rediscover the profound meaning of their vocation, transforming classrooms into spaces of hope and personal growth.

A Teacher's Voice from Santos Michelena

"In the midst of changing schedules and daily challenges, it is easy to forget why we chose this path. The 'Alive to the World' training has given me a new way to connect with my students' hearts. Seeing their faces light up when they receive their own book is a reminder that we are building their future, one value at a time." — Aracelis Blanco - Participating Teacher, Aragua State.

Marzo 2026: El Amanecer del Cambio: Nuestros Primeros Pasos Despertando Aragua
Por Eva Martorano – Líder de Proyecto, Aprendiendo a Querer

Estimados donantes,

Hitos y Logros Clave (Primer Momento Pedagógico)

— Aracelis Blanco - Docente participante, Estado Aragua.
