Atlas Corps: 17 Year Anniversary

This Month, Make a Difference with Atlas Corps

By Corinna Hoerst | Acting CEO, Atlas Corps

Thank you for your continued inspiration to the Atlas Corps community. Your support not only reaches the 1,700+ global leaders from 117 countries in our professional network, but also the local communities they work in, and our active Host Organizations that we partner with for our Fellowship programs.

Atlas Corps is actively partnering with 23 mission-driven organizations in the United States as Host Organizations, providing our Fellows with professional experience alongside skilled experts in their fields. Thanks to you, this year we successfully connected 26 Fellows with 17 active Host Organizations, such as the American Red Cross, Medici Road, Deseret Management, and CorpsAfrica.

Class 47 Fellow Boubacar is currently serving at CorpsAfrica as their Alumni Association Coordinator, where he has built a support network for CorpsAfrica volunteers and successfully led their first cohort of the Entrepreneurship Incubator and formalized their Matching Scholarship Program. Boubacar shares that he is learning a lot from his Host Supervisor, Ryan, the Chief Operating Officer at CorpsAfrica.

According to Ryan, “Boubacar’s contributions to CorpsAfrica will be felt for years to come. Shortly after onboarding into this position, we launched the first cohort of the CorpsAfrica Entrepreneurship Incubator. Over the course of three months, eight alumni-led ventures participated in weekly sessions covering a full range of topics to prepare them to run their own job-creating business. In the end, all eight ventures qualified for $5,000 USD grants to support their operations. Boubacar managed the program from start to finish and top to bottom – identifying contractors, supporting each business, coordinating sessions, and mentoring participants.

P.S. We are grateful for your commitment to the Atlas Corps mission and continue to ask for your support this month by sharing our mission with your networks. Join us on November 28 for Giving Tuesday at: https://www.globalgiving.org/donate/717/atlas-corps/. Together as a global community, we can make a difference.
