Dear Friends and Supporters,
We write today with gratitude for your interest in the Assistive Tech for Ethiopians with Disabilities project by the Hailay and Tsehay Foundation. As of now, we have not received any significant donations to this campaign, and so no activities have been able to begin. The project goal remains US$60,000, and those funds are still fully needed.
Although fundraising has not yet met our target, we continue to build awareness and readiness behind the scenes. We have been actively promoting the Foundation through our Facebook page and other social media platforms, including accessible-format videos to share our mission, activities, and the urgent need for assistive technologies in Ethiopia. These will help potential donors see firsthand what your support would make possible. We continue to sign Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with other like-minded organisations who we can work with to further our cause.
This project aims to provide affordable assistive devices (such as screen readers, Braille keyboards, mobility aids) and training so persons with disabilities can fully participate in education, employment, and community life. With the right funding, we believe we can begin with pilot distributions and training, and then scale up to broader outreach.
