Across Asia, young women remain underrepresented in leadership due to unequal access, limited support, and restrictive norms, despite their strong vision for change. Since 2012, the Asian Girls Campaign has equipped women aged 18-25 with training, mentorship, and a "Girls Empower Girls" network to lead SDG-driven community action. Join us in investing in the next generation. Your support empowers 20 young women each year to become confident leaders driving lasting, inclusive change across Asia.
Across Asia, women hold only 23% of parliamentary seats, a sign of ongoing barriers to leadership. Young women leaders face limiting social norms, few mentors, and little access to resources or networks. Their ideas are often overlooked, and speaking up can lead to backlash. Safety concerns and restricted mobility further hold them back. Without support, their exclusion becomes the norm, holding back not only their potential, but also the strength and sustainability of their communities.
Each year, this year-long program empowers 20 young women to lead and challenge the norms that hold them back. We select emerging leaders and provide a 16-session training, mentorship, and a "Girls Empower Girls" network. Each participant leads a community project with local partners, demonstrating women's leadership in action. By building skills, confidence, and visibility, and sustaining a strong regional network, we help young women drive lasting, inclusive change in their communities.
Our program creates impact at every stage. Participants quickly gain practical leadership skills while leading local projects that promote sustainability. Over time, they become part of a strong, cross-Asia network of young women driving change. Through a peer-led model and strategic partnerships, the program continues beyond initial funding, evolving from a single initiative into a permanent piece of regional infrastructure, sustained by the very women it empowers to lead social change.
