Festival Celebration and Meeting the Parents

By Dechu Banerjee | Secretary

Report for the quarter October 2015  to December 2015.

In this quarter the children have settled into a routine and are now  able  to read and write numbers. They have also started reading two letter words.

October is a month of  festivals and celebration in India .Apart from Dussehra   the festival of Lights  Deepavali  is also celebrated all over India.  This is the  time for  the children to enjoy lighting lamps, wearing new clothes and  bursting crackers. The teacher  took the opportunity and educated  the children about bursting crackers safely and  with the  supervision of the elders.

Ashraya also  celebrated Diwali with all the crèche and admin staff. They  were all invited  to the office  for tea and snacks; each teacher showcased her talent by either singing or reciting a poem. They were all given Diwali gifts.

November- Due to the severe cyclonic weather in South India  Bangalore also experienced inclement weather and this affected the children as well .  It was very cold and  the parents were encouraged  to dress  the children with warm clothes. Regular doctor’s visit was done  to ensure that children were not following sick .

December:- This quarter the Parents Teachers meeting was arranged in all the crèches. The meeting went on very well.

  1. The  children’s activities and performance was shared with the parents.
  2. Their progress in height and weight were informed to the parents.
  3. The parents were educated about the RTE quota they can avail for their child’s education.
  4.  Admissions to formal schools and the process and application s etc were discussed with the parents .

The parents in turn shared  how the crèche has helped them and their children and said their were happy to see the young ones learning and following a routine. They all thanked the teacher and staff of Ashraya for supporting them and giving their children an opportunity. .
