Workshop for Teachers

Activities

July is usually a busy month for all  the crèche  teachers. All the new children take time to settle down.  The teachers have been giving individual attention to the new children and  training them regularly on neat eating habits, toilet training etc.

Once the children have settled into a routine and are comfortable in the crèche  the various activities are started.

The children have been introduced to alphabets, numbers, names of different types of fruits, vegetables, animals, birds and shapes. The younger children are engaged in  activities like playing and coordinating with beads, legos, drawing and colouring using chalk piece which helps develop fine motor skills and eye-coordination.

Children enjoy drawing and colouring and also have lot of fun singing rhymes.

Workshop

On August 29th 2015 Ashraya  organized a  Teachers Workshop for all the crèche teachers. This year Ms. Nitya one of the Committee members   assessed the needs of the teachers and designed a workshop with the resource persons. The resource people Ms. Shana and Ms. Aruna  are  trained Montessori teachers from Gurukul School. They did a fantastic job. They made the workshop very interactive and all the teachers showed lot of interest and  their suggestions  was also taken into consideration.

A total of 12 creches teachers and teachers’  assistants including the primary school teachers from Neelbagh School attended the workshop m.

This year we have introduced the teachers to Phonetics. The teachers found it very interesting and knew that this method would make their teaching simple, easy and fun for children to understand. Also the teachers were taught new English and Kannada rhymes and methods of story telling
