ASAP for youth is preparaging for its first project: symposiums to educate on alcohol prevention .Our project started few months ago with the idea to educate parents and kids about the consequences on alcohol dependency, use and abuse.
ASAP consists of a group of parents and school students who are volunteering. We are working together with FLORIDA INTERNACIONAL UNIVERSITY-FIU BRIDGE to spread awareness on underage drinking. We are working towards having future Symposiums with guest panelists such as police chiefs, doctors from ER, psychologists, experts in the field and special guests with inspirational stories.
We are inviting schools in the community to host these symposiums. Our goal is to educate our community and bring the Symposiums to other cities and also to other countries where our foundation has worked a lot in the past (Nicaragua).
We have received enthusiasm from many parents and kids in the community about our project. Alcohol abuse among teens is growing and we need to get together and work hard to prevent it.
