Thank you for supporting the 2014 Audience Project Tour, The Emperor’s New Clothes. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to present this show 14 times to a total of more than 2,500 under-served children at schools and community organizations that have little to no funding for arts education. For many of our audience members, it was their first time seeing a professional play.

We were fortunate to have such a talented group actors, which included Corrado Alicata, Mieko Gavia, Raphael Schklowsky, and Samantha Whitbeck. We also had a fantastic production team including Author, E. Gray Simmons III; Director (and veteran AFA Teaching Artist) Robin Cannon Colwell; Production Manager, Meredith Smart; Scenic Designer, Andrew Rasmussen; Original Music, Clayton Colwell; and additional production support from Simon Trumble, Simone Cipriano, and Brennan O’Rourke.

The student audiences raved about this performance and many asked the actors and their teachers if they could see the show again.

In addition to the performances, Arts For All created a study guide for the students to explore with their classroom teachers after the show. This allowed for deeper understanding of key themes brought up by the performance. This study guide included a summary of the performance, a fun crown-making activity, and much more.

We are closing this project page on Global Giving because this project was fully funded and the tour is complete. You can still support Arts For All’s programs through our main Global Giving page, "Art Programs for 3,500 In-Need New York Children." We also frequently update our Facebook, Twitter and Website with programmatic activities.

Thank you for supporting this important program and for helping bring the magic of theater to so many under-served children in New York City!
