Paintbrushes have been cleaned off, dance steps performed, and final edits made to films. The 2016-2017 school year has wrapped up for students and Arts For All.

Artistic Residency Program took several arts disciplines across New York City. From Haiku Poetry/Drama (PS163 in the Bronx and PS76 in Queens), Visual Arts (PS163 and PS69 in Staten Island) Drama (PS163), and Dance (Weeksville in Brooklyn). The students of the two programs at PS163 even came together to celebrate, share, and discuss their work.

Literacy Through the Arts (LTA) finished another successful year at PS15 and Hamilton Heights Elementary! At both schools, the program closed with the kindergartners, 1st graders, and 2nd graders came together to share what they had worked on during the Spring semester. Kindergarten presented a song with movement about vowels and how to make a band. 1st grade shared their weekly warm up and one student read their original book inspired by Mo Williams' Knuffle Bunny. 2nd grade, after learning about the parts of a fairytale, shared their original adaptations of Cinderella.

AFA took Step Right Up! and Video Creation Project to The Green School in Brooklyn. Students participating in Step Right Up! discussed the importance of community advocacy through storytelling and wrote plays about issues with school lunches. Students participating in the Video Creation Project created a silent film using sock puppets. Please enjoy the premieres of "Devon Gets Married" and "The Guard"!

Thank you once again for your continued support of our mission. Without your help, we would not be able to reach thousands of under-served New York City children with our accessible arts programs.
