Spring has certain sprung and Arts For All is busy across all five boroughs!
Literacy Through the Arts continues at PS 15 and Hamilton Heights. 1st graders performed their adaptations of Paperbag Princess and getting ready to write and illustrate their own books based on Mo William's Knuffle Bunny. 2nd graders have written and are rehearsing their adaptations of Cinderella. Their stories included everything from a shape-shifting pigeon to talking trees!
Artistic Residency Program is thriving, with programs in visual arts, drama, and dance. Students at PS 69 on Staten Island worked on Family Storybooks and colorful portraits of people and scenes from Revolutionary era. In the past, we have seen success with Visual Arts and Haiku Poetry with the generous support of Amy Losak. This semester, we are trying a new program, Drama and Haiku Poetry, also with Losak's support. At PS 163 (Bronx) and PS 76 (Queens) students will bring to life the work of poet Sydell Rosenberg (1929-1996).
Thank you once again for your continued support of our mission. Without your help, we would not be able to reach thousands of under-served New York City children with our accessible arts programs.
