Dear Arts For All Community,

Happy Fall! School Year 24-25 is now in full swing, and we are so excited to get back into the classrooms after a busy summer of planning, preparation, and hiring of new Teaching Artists to our roster.

Plans for School Year 2024-2025

We are planning to provide more than 1000 workshops total in 2024-2025 with our 14 partner locations:

  • The Artistic Residency Program will provide over 420 workshops between our school partners: PS15, PS19, PS163, PS194, New Alternatives for Children (NAC), Williamsburg High School of Arts and Tech, Corlears School, Weeksville Elementary and Renaissance Charter School 1 in Jackson Heights.
  • The Literacy Through the Arts Program will provide over 600 workshops between our school partners PS15, PS76, PS163, Renaissance Charter Schools Elmhurst and Jackson Heights, and with Behind the Book.
  • Virtual Classroom content alone will serve an additional 900 students at least, and an Audience Project trip will occur in 2025, with the field trip/theater production details to be decided.

Accounting for all of 2024, we are on track to serve about 5,000 students total by the end of 2024. Next year, we are expecting to serve about 5,200 students total by the end of 2025!

New Teaching Artists

Join us as we welcome Ana, Azriel, Kalyani and Natalie to the Arts For All Teaching Artist Roster! We can't wait to see their work and support to bring the arts into classrooms across New York City's 5 boroughs.

Arts For All's initiative to provide bilingual programming into some of our in-person programs continues to flourish. Our roster now includes several Teaching Artists who are fluent in Spanish as well as several other languages to help address any communication gaps that may be present within our workshops.

Virtual Classroom

As of Fall 2024, our Virtual Content has grown to a total of 192 videos between 23 different series (over 68,000 views!) This summer we premiered our latest Artistic Residency Program video series titled The Sensory Museum! Featuring Arts For All Teaching Artist Nicole Hogsett, this five-part series takes viewers on a journey to explore the five senses — sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste — through theater, music, movement, and visual arts.

More Updates:

  • New Activity Books - Teaching Artists Mélissa Smith, Stephanie Martinez and Sam Funk have created several fun Activity Books for your child to enjoy!
  • Tic-Tac-Toe! - Our new tic-tac-toe boards can turn a day at school or a walk on a fall day into an I-Spy event!
  • Several Educational Video Series now include the Teaching Artists' Lesson Plans!

Audience Project Fall 2024

Arts For All is excited to announce we will be providing several trips to Broadway performances to school partners this fall!

  • 8th Grade students: Suffs at the Music Box Theatre in November.
  • 4th Grade students: Aladdin at the New Amsterdam Theatre in December.
  • Artist Jaime Benavides will tour performances of Juan Sombrero in the City of the Future, to students in grades K-2.  This production is a bilingual (Spanish/English) clown show, helping children learn ways to build a healthy city in the face of our changing climate!

Arts For All's Audience Project brings a free professional theater production to under-served kids in the NYC area. Previous productions include The Emperor’s New Clothes, Pinocchio!, Pig Pen Theatre’s The Mountain Song, and Mélissa Smith’s The Magician’s Assistant and BLAST OFF! Astronaut Training Residency.

Thank you to Play On! Studios for their support in making these events happen for the children of New York City!

Thank You to Our Supporters

This past June, Arts For All was once again named a “2024 Top-Rated Nonprofit” by GreatNonprofits! We appreciate all of your 5 Star reviews!

Arts For All's Literacy Through the Arts and Artistic Residency Programs are made possible in part by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature. Thank you to NYSCA for believing in our work and for supporting our mission!

Arts For All would also like to thank the Genesis Inspiration Foundation, The Pierre and Tana Matisse Foundation, Markel Corporation, Andrew Family Foundation, Henshel Foundation and Play On! Studios for supporting our Artistic Residency Program, Literacy Through the Arts, and Audience Project.

Last but not least, we are grateful to generous donors like you, who play a huge part in sustaining our programs each year. Every cent goes entirely to making our programs thrive!

As always, be sure to subscribe to our newsletter to stay tuned for more updates, especially as we get closer to Giving Tuesday in December. We wish every one a great Autumn season!
