On behalf of everyone here at Arts For All we'd like to send you our Fall season greetings!
As the school year kicks back into full swing, our organization continues to find new ways to provide our essential arts programs to our partners, while expanding our resources and services in ways in which we're able to reach families virtually during this period of COVID. In order to highlight some of these initiatives we want to share with you some samples of what our Teaching Artists have been up to in creating video content and more news for upcoming residencies in the works!
Since mid-April we’ve been working tirelessly on developing new partnerships with organizations and schools such as PS9, Wildflower Charter School, Roots Cafe (in Parks Slopes) and have been working together with our Teaching Artists to create all new video content for our student and partners to use during this period of time. As a result of all the work we've been able to build on over the summer our Teaching Artists have been able to create 57 full length videos tutorials that are full of jam-packed content that each of our partners and students can use to work on various types of arts projects while at home!!
Here are just some of these video samples done by some of our senior Teaching Artists Darian Dauchan, MaryAnne Piccolo, and Ciara Ruddock:
Walking through how to go about writing Acrostic Poems, as a part of his video series on poetry: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bg0f95C-L3U
Video Creating with MaryAnne pt.1 - Creating a Storyboard: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EW5kZUCrIc&t=3s
Creating Stop Motion Animation with Ciara Ruddock Part 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fki_KOWNAKQ&t=6s
If you're interested in see the rest of our new content you can find all 57 tutorials/video series playlists broken down by each Teaching Artist on our YouTube channel at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ5FiWO2Dk-3t8f9uYrr7ug
Now that we've been able to create this content and transition all of our programming virtually, we've also been fortunate enough to be able to continue all of our residencies virtually as well, while also focusing on new outreach and fundraising initiatives that will help us engage with our partners more directly with outside partners such as Smart Design and Tropical Cream. Arts For All will however remain virtual for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year or until it is safe for both our students and teaching artists to resume in-person programming.
During these difficult times we at Arts For All would like to personally thank you for continuing to support our organization during such difficult times. Now more than ever the world needs the arts for our children, and as we still push forward into 2021 we are making it our goal and priority to serve as many students as we possibly can during this period of time.
We are wishing you and your loved ones remain in good health and spirits and hope that you will continue to support our organization, so that we can create a better world in which we can continue to provide sustainable, quality arts programs to under-served children during this critical moment in time and for years to come.
Sincerely,
Anna Roberts Ostroff
Executive Director
