Project Report | Jun 24, 2024
Art & Science Pro People Report

By Luz Pro | Director and founder

This project intends to support and promote artistic and scientific projects with a social, educational and inclusive approach, especially those with a gender and LGBTQ+ perspective. Our intention is to promote artistic work made by women and other identities. We empower artists who embrace meaningful topics and contribute to cultural and social development. With a strong commitment to diversity, Arte Pro seeks to amplify different voices and encourage creativity, inspiring positive change.

Problem

We want to ensure an equitable and effective representation of diverse identities and perspectives of our artistic projects. Arte Pro, as a non-profit organisation that generates human development programmes, faces the challenge of dealing with the complexities of gender and LGBTQ+ concerns, ensuring a positive and meaningful impact on society through art and science. We require a strategy to maximise the visibility and reach of the projects, promoting their impact on the Mexican cultural scene.

Impact

The impact of this project will be a sustainable cultural and social transformation. By supporting and promoting inclusive projects, artists of diverse identities will be empowered, generating a change in representation and perception in society. The amplification of different voices will contribute to the awareness and understanding of gender concerns, generating a more inclusive and equitable culture.

Exhibition and workshop

In collaboration with Grupo Shogua, we conducted two workshop tours of the exhibition "Amor Fati" by the artist Pandora, promoting her artistic work among children. After the mindfulness activity, the girls had the opportunity to experience the works of art made by the artist, talk to her about her motivations and perceive the sensations, colours and textures that each piece triggered in them. After a movement exploration session in one of the most representative installations of the exhibition, the girls developed their own watercolour creations, capturing what they most enjoyed on a sensory level of this wonderful experience. This activity seeks to generate links between artists and the community.

This project will continue to promote the work of artists with a social perspective.

¡Thank you!
