Armath as nationwide movement

By Maya Shahumyan | Head of Armath

Since its launch in 2011, the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE) has led the transformative Armath Engineering Makerspaces initiative. What began as a local educational effort has grown into a globally recognized model for accessible, hands-on STEM education. In 2026, Armath makerspaces continue to thrive across Armenia and in countries including the USA, France, Kuwait, India, Eswatini, Bangladesh, and Georgia—showcasing the global relevance and scalability of Armenia’s educational vision.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, we are continuing to bridge the STEM education gap in Armenia. Students are actively designing robots, coding apps, and building prototypes.

Student Engagement
In 2026, over 17,000 students actively participated in Armath makerspaces globally. Through structured, hands-on learning in engineering, programming, and robotics, students are gaining the technical skills and creative confidence needed for the innovation-driven jobs of tomorrow.

Real-World Learning
The integration of Armath labs into schools bridges the gap between theory and practice. By working on real projects, students develop practical problem-solving skills and envision futures in technology, engineering, and entrepreneurship.

Technical Upgrading of Makerspaces

We are actively upgrading the Armath makerspaces of Gegharkunik, Aragatsotn, and other regions. Students now have reliable tools to explore their creativity and expand their technical skills.

DIgicode 2026
We are thrilled to share that, just last month, we successfully organized the Digicode programming contest.

Out of 1320 children and teenagers representing every region of Armenia, 147 reached the national final stage. Students of Armath makerspaces pitched their games, animations, and IoT solutions during the competition and were evaluated by professionals from the Armenian tech industry.

Through continued partnership and community support, Armath remains committed to shaping future-ready youth and strengthening Armenia’s position in the global innovation ecosystem.

All of the above achievements were made possible with the generous support of donors and contributions received outside this platform.
